Ko Lipe or Koh Lipe, pronounced as Koh Leepae, is located about 50km from the mainland and is Thailand's southernmost island in the Tarutao National Marine Park.

Unspoiled beaches and aquamarine water are yours to enjoy!

There are 4 main beaches Pattaya, Sunlight, Sunset and Karma Beach. All beaches are connected by footpaths and it takes about an hour or two to walk the entire island.

There are roughly 600 bungalows on Ko Lipe, ranging from tents on the beach to the more outstanding with panoramic views.

**Lipe has developed a reputation of filling up quickly and leaving people to sleep on the beach, especially during holidays and long-weekends. We can recommend some idyll beaches for camping or accommodation with online reservations so you can plan before you go!

We can be reached by longtail or ferry from Pakbarra, Ko Lanta, Trang or Langkawi.
Ferry Schedule

There are no cars and a limited amount of motorbikes. Ko Lipe village has a school a few small shops and some fantastic local food. There is also a newly improved medical center with basic supplies. Travellers with medical experience are asked to register in case of emergency.

There have been increasing complaints about problems of litter and waste disposal on Ko Lipe. It is a small island, ill-equipped to cope with the volume of tourism it is now receiving, so try to tread lightly. If you've got a free day try to rustle up a few people and go do a bit of cleaning.

Things To do:

 Day Trips: Tarutao National Park consists of many islands that can be reached very easily from Lipe. Most resorts have drivers and tours for your convenience. 1/2 day or full day trips can be arranged to neighbouring islands such as Ko Rawi and Ko Adang. The beautiful island of Hin Ngnam and its spiritual undertones should not be missed.

The island is teeming with marine life and a healthy reef system . Snorkel equipment can be rented from most resorts.

 Beach Stuff:
   hiking: There are plenty of footpaths around Ko Lipe, the neighbouring islands of Adang and Rawi have waterfalls and lookouts.

   kayaking: rent a Kayak from various spots on the beach and spend the day or two seeing the island and reef

   lounging: Almost every restaurant and bar on Ko Lipe has an area for chilllin. There is something relaxing for everybody!

   batik courses: In front of Lipe Resort, create your own beautiful Batik

    massages: Traditional massages, skilled hands deliver soothing remedies

Things to know:

As of yet, there are no ATM's so be sure and bring enough cash to sustain you. Most resorts will accept credit cards at an additional fee.

DTAC and AIS are the current mobile operators on the island. You can make local and long-distance phone calls at many of the resorts if you do not have a phone of your own.
